Farming Topic

Published by portcharlotte under News

P5/6/7 are doing farming as their topic this term and they each have a personal topic that they are going to find out about. Some people in the class are researching about animals and some are researching about machinery. We have lots of books and we can research on the internet about our topic and we hope we will know lots of new things when we finish it. I am doing a topic on sheepdogs and I wrote away to the international sheepdog society to ask about information on sheepdogs and they sent me some information and even some free gifts. I have lots of information now and I hope to get more.

Whole School Health

Published by portcharlotte under News

On Thursday 8th March we had a whole school afternoon of health, which children and teachers thoroughly enjoyed. Children were organised in clans and were able to sample a variety of health related activities. Mrs Stuart got their hearts pumping in a session of physical fun, explaining the importance of warming up and cooling down. The importance of treating people kindly was highlighted through fun games and songs with Mr Trussler and Mrs McLellan. With Mrs CLark children learnt what to do if someone was hurt or injured whilst Mrs McLellan taught the recovery position, both teachers being heart start trained. http://www.bhf.org.uk/hearthealth/index.asp?SecID=1&secondlevel=75

Great fun was had by all and children were able to learn new skills that will help them be healthier individuals.
