World War II Visit

Published by portcharlotte under News

27/11/06

On Monday the 20th of November Rona MacKenzie and Mary Merril came in to talk to us about what it was like to be in World War II.
Rona has written a leaflet about the tragedy at Blackrock.

She told us about a plane that crashed at the rocks of Blackrock,of which the story went like this:

A plane crashed on the rocks of Blackrock, but one man was still inside. All of the rest of the people that got out went back in to save the one man that was still inside. At that moment the plane blew up! Bits of plane was scattered all around blackrock for quite a long time.

We would like to say thank you to Mrs.MacKenzie and Mrs.Merril for coming in to our class and telling us what they know about Islay and other places in the war.

Science Streamlining

Published by portcharlotte under News

We are doing science on streamling on cars. The names of the cars are three Nissans, two Toyotas and one Mitsubishi. We are putting the cars on top of ramps and the car that is the fastest is the most streamlined.

Mood Boards for Remembrance Day

Published by portcharlotte under News

In Art P567 have been learning about a peace board and war boards.
A peace board is colourful and bright.
A war board is dull and dark.
I enjoyed doing it.

Hallowe’en Party

Published by portcharlotte under News

P5,6,7 have been working on organising a halloween Party for a school enterprise topic. We had to plan it and make tons of decorations. The teachers had nothing to do with it, it was just P567 who ran it. We had the party and me Cersty, Andrew and Scott got wrapped up in toilet roll as mummies. It was great fun.
